Island III concept design

Before you bitch, nobody ever reads the suggestion section; Don't even get me started about the maps thread.

Here is a layout of one of my ideas for Island III.. Feedback?

edit: Oh yeah. And its supposed to be perfectly symmetrical.. But I made that little paint drawing in less than 10 minutes.

Ok... this should be in the suggestions thread. If you honestly only posted it here because you thought people would bitch about it being in the suggestion thread, I can guarantee you that this won't make a difference. The correct subforum is "Suggestions", end of story. Shrub's topic covers this anyways.

The map seems a bit too simplistic, plenty of auto-nades will be found in only a couple of days. Plus, the people at the top are practically right next to each other. If blue went first, they could just rocket or nade one of the red guys off. Having a top area might be pretty cool, but it needs way more complexity then what you posted. From the picture it looks like people on the bottom in each side can easily walk on the other side of the hill in one turn. It would cool if it map was wide enough to where it took at least two turns to get over the hill, so people couldn't start shooting or rocketing eachother immediatly. That's all I can think of for now.

Yes.. I wanted to base this off of the original Island rather than II. They both have good nade spots and I wanted this one to be a little harder.
Notice that the ceiling is a bit low so no auto nades could not really get further then Guy#1. And that's not a big issue.

As for the top a rocket placed correctly will send the first guy flying back down the gap to the first floating pedestal. This is OK because I wanted the top to be all about art and not really the main attraction.
You couldn't exactly throw any good insta nades up there and you wouldn't really want to waste them that way anyway; And it would be sick to watch all of the variations of 3 bounces off of those walls for the regular nades smile

As for Shooting up there... you would have to get closer from your point of view to be able to actually hit your target. So I.E. the first guy could easily move a little bit closer and shoot the other side in the head, but thats risky because you are so close to a gap..

hm. sorry hero but I do think it's better not to encourage this just yet.
like I mentioned in the other thread I'm far from considering maps right now, so this has the potential to become another forgotten topic

believe it or not I have browsed through some of the topics in the suggestions forum, and when the time comes for maps I'll look through the suggest a map thread as well smile
