Mine

I would like to suggest the mine as an invisible weapon that you can place at anytime on a flat surface anywhere on the map, but your opponent wouldn't know where you put it.  If stepped on by either player, it would create a wide explosion dealing 30 damage to all players in the vicinity and blowing them back a significant amount.  You would maybe have 2-3 a game with teams of 6.  Of course, the main effect would be that it could be placed in areas where players seem to go every time, and so people would have to adapt and maybe have several different starting strategies for each level to avoid any mines their opponent may have placed.  Thoughts?

Re: Mine

Anywhere on the map? How about having a restricted area so you can't just put one in front of where your opponent starts.

Re: Mine

If you're facing a good opponent, then their mine placement will be more or less random in order to be unpredictable.  If they balk at the common mine locations when you don't have a mine there, you gain an advantage, and then if they step on your mines anyway, you also gain an advantage.  It'd be a little too much like playing paper rock scissors.

Re: Mine

I agree, using invisible mines would be a pretty sketchy way to play.

Re: Mine

I don't like the idea of a mine. If I did, I'd say you can only place it within a certain distance of the current players turn. However, it would encourage camping, trapping and you could make the enemy avoid a certain route on the map, making them go a route that's easy for you to pick them off with grenades.

Re: Mine

This would be annoying and probably game breaking.
