I have a decent idea for the rocket. Make it more like a RPG so it has velocity. When it's going at mid to long range, it's going to go out of course, although only by a bit. If you know how an RPG works, you will know what I'm talking about. A visualization of this would be after the RPG has traveled x distance, it starts moving up and down on the screen by a bit, making it not a SURE hit. That could even out the use of it, due to it being so powerful.

Not sure if this could work in the game though.. just an idea

And if you get really lucky it blows off course right into 6 of your opponents men XD bahahaah

I like that idea. One thing I don't like about rockets is how they have the ability to be precise. I don't like losing to someone just because they figured out how to shoot a rocket through a bunch of debris in the middle of the stage and hit my guy at the other side at the last minute. Good idea Sean, that would make a lot more sense.

The only problem with this is that Rockets are one of the best weapons for killing campers at long range, and this would eliminate that. Plus, I'd rather see things added that require skill, not things based on blind luck.

Hahah shrub.. somewhat. I agree it does have to do with a lot of luck. I am not a fan of even stevens, and how everything is going to happen exactly as it should if you apply the right skill to it, such as a certain point in the nade power bar. [I'm not even totally sure what I just said even] I totally agree with you but throwing in a little pizazz in there couldn't hurt. plus in territory WAR yikes the unexpected can happen tongue

Sean, I like your idea, but how much change of course do you want the rockets to do?  It obviously would be frustrating because your rocket changed course and missed by a longshot.  Also considering that you have limited rockets and that rockets are sometimes the only way to kill a camper, like Shrub mentioned.

Sniping won't fix camping altogether though....

Wait I got a really good suggestion, the sniper rifle will do 20 damage from close range, and get stronger farther out, with one end of the map to the other as maybe... 70-90?

This would be put together so that people won't abuse the fact that close range sniping with the sniper rifle would deal tremendous damage. Also, it would encourage the person to use the sniper from a very far range [also very hard to do, so it's a risk] Although people can also shoot straight and use view to help aim straight to get a 100% of hitting from any range, there's really low chances where you'll be able to do this from very far away

Kai: Does camping need to be fixed altogether? I think it's just part of the game. Annoying sometimes, but it's strategy.

I already went through this with Shrub and he convinced me camping is part of the game smile I really don't mind campers cuz I can beat them whatever they do :p

Kai you can't do that with the sniper rifle because it would make things much more tedious. You'd have to map out ranges for the sniper's effectiveness, and 70 is too high whether you hit them an inch away or a mile away.

Honestly, I just line it up with a piece of printer paper for important shots so I won't miss. There is nothing worse than losing a game from a missed Head Shot.

The idea of a weapon that could be used at long range (beyond the screen) with high damage could go to either the sniper rifle, or a laser rifle. I don't mean to combine ideas, but both have merit and seem very similar. The only difference being that having a rifle and a sniper rifle might seem confusing to new people, but having a rifle and a laser gun would help keeping the two as separate weapons.

Overall though, no matter what, an alternative long range weapon to the rocket would be great.

The only way increased damage for distance would make sense would be if the person you shot was off the screen and you cant see them. Like rhine said, I just line my shot up with a piece of paper so I don's miss.

Because of the way the laser is emitted from the rifle's tip awkwardly, I find it easier to just tilt my head and use my eyes rather than use a paper. Whenever I use paper I miss.

Actually I do this too, I put a horizontal line straight through my peripheral vision, studying art helps, having to draw straight lines all the time e_e

































On topic, Sin, are you talkin about the idea where the farther the opponent is, the stronger the bullet damage will get? Cuz I'm all for it, I mean seriously the farther you are, the harder it'll be to snipe right? hard work, great reward I guess. I mean sure people can aim with paper, but still who the hell would not hide behind a wall or stand in the middle of nowhere with no cover tongue The sniper would only be useful if you can get to a position where you can hit straight towards the opponent, and even doing that will expose you to a sniper shot
