Re: Sports Discussion Thread

Instead of posting half of our sports related topics in the off topic thread, and half in a bunch of other new threads that die fast and clutter the forum, I thought this would make things easier.

I hope the Cardinals win just because I want to be able to say we lost to the best team.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

Redskins sure had a whole bunch of crappy calls against the Eagles that set the tone for the rest of the game. They tried to say "roughing the passer" when we tackled Vick like a split second after he threw it, the funny part is that he was in his inzone because the snap went over his head.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

Sorry, but if your starting quarterback goes 9-22 for around 150 yards and throws 4 interceptions, it doesn't matter what way the calls go, you're probably going to lose.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

It's one of the great mysteries of the NFL, right up there with "why did the Seahawks sign Tavaris Jackson?" or "why is Marvin Lewis still an NFL head coach?"

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

Fuck the Rangers, they are a terrible organization that is going to burn in the eternal lake of fire. Go Cards!

Tavaris Jackson really isn't as bad as people make him out to be, he's a serviceable starter.

As a Vikings fan who watched him (on and off) for 3 seasons, he really is that bad. And in this league, a "serviceable starter" simply isn't enough unless you have a great defense or a running game, neither of which the Seachickens have.

Hell, even when the Vikings had Adrian Peterson, every team just stacked the line of scrimmage every play and he still couldn't do Jack shit.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

Any opinions on the Andrew Luck lottery?  Personally, I'm interested to see what the Colts do.  If they keep up this pace they'll get the first pick...do they spend it on Luck when they know they'll have a healthy Peyton Manning back for next season?  Or could Manning tutor Luck?  I'm interested to see how this plays out.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

Peyton tutors luck because he's getting older, and luck could be second string for 1 or 2 years, that's my prediction. Also, Andrew Luck could probally kick a** for the colts (d*** bleeper).

You generally don't draft a QB with the next season in mind, so I don't see why they wouldn't take him. Even if Manning gets 2-4 good years in, that would probably be a great learning experience for Luck. Just look at what Brett Favre did for Rodgers.

Damn, the idea of Peyton Manning tutoring Andrew Luck is pretty scary.  Talk about setting yourself up for success.
