Re: Sports Discussion Thread

That's probably because I'm also watching the game at the same time. Where's my typo in this thread though?

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

CCW as we called it in English last year (commonly confused words) although I think it was just a typo... you wrote "dual" instead of "duel" haha. And you said "Uprgade" :'(

EDIT: Lame how you mods can edit without anyone knowing (D)

Well, a typo is defined as a physical mistake with the fingers. Although I know the difference between the two words, I just wasn't thinking clearly when I wrote it.

But yeah, not a typo.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

I'll be. Though I'm more excited for the Newcastle game in 90 minutes.

As far as the game tomorrow, I'm hoping United wins, because I can't stand the moneygrubbing ways of City.

On the topic of Assoc.... fuck it- football, I really hope these rumors of abolishing relegation turn out to be wrong. That would be absolutely devastating to the entire league. Damn foreign owners...

I'll be supporting Newcastle because I don't like Wigan and I have some form of respect for Newcastle (as a football team and not as a city).

Iwinlol.

I hope they don't abolish relegation either. They brought a franchise system into Rugby [League] a few years back and I hate it. There are "clear regulations" that teams need to follow to obtain a Super League Licence but the enforcement of these regulations is laughable. Some of the regulations themselves are quite laughable.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

Can anyone recommend any suicide methods?

That was some God-awful defence in the last five minutes. When we scored, I thought that if we could score again before the 85th minute then it'd be game on. But unfortunately, that didn't exactly happen.

P.S. Johnny Evans is now the most hated guy in West Manchester.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

Yeah, that was pretty painful to watch. From a neutral perspective, I just wanted a good game. It was far from it unless you're a sadist.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

From someone who doesn't know all too much about the Vikings, they seem to be better than their record.  I can remember at least three games this year where they managed to race out to a big lead before collapsing in the second half, so they at least appear to be a decent first half team.

Now is that a real poncho or a Sears poncho?

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

Some games they've been good, such as against the Lions, and in others they were just overall terrible. The man problems were bad pass defense, and well, Mcnabb.

The main difference makers so far have been Christian Ponder, and the pass rush. I like what I see so far from the rookie.

Edit: Aaaaand now it's all falling apart.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

Yeah, Christian Ponder has been surprisingly good so far.  The Packers are just too good, they've got to be odds on favorites to win it all this year until someone proves they can actually beat them.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

If the Rangers win tomorrow i'm gonna be so happy. Me and a large group of people placed bets on who would win the World Series. I'll be in on 250 dollars if they win.

I was only mildly curious, and figured someone on the boards would be able to tell me.

Wow, what a game. That might be the best WS match I've ever seen. Can't wait for the deciding game 7.

Re: Sports Discussion Thread

I missed it but heard it was fantastic. I can't believe that happened, watching the recaps... probably one of the most exciting World Series matches in the history of the game. ESPECIALLY if Carpenter pulls a stunt similar to his defeat of Roy Halladay back in the Division series to cap off the World Series for the Cards. That would fit the script perfectly.
