Here's a visual explanation of the "mind game" I was referring to and of why the bounce platform is the most useful strategy of all (Strategy #1). Hope this makes it easier to visualize in an actual game, RIP:
First of all, let's assume both players use Strategy #1 to start, and for the sake of simplicity we'll have them both start the same exact way. Of course there are alternative ways of doing most of these steps, but that doesn't make a difference for what I'm trying to show you.
Opponent Move 1:
You Move 1:
Opponent Move 2:
You Move 2:
Opponent Move 3:
Now. As you can see, Opponent is setting up to send P4 underneath to place a bounce platform near Your wall. Now you have a few choices:
First option is to anticipate Opponent's bounce platform by blocking it beforehand with a wall:
You Move 3a:
Second option is to force the "mind game" into effect by copying Opponent's move 3 exactly. This forces a tough decision onto Opponent as illustrated below:
You Move 3b:
Opponent now is threatened by Your P4, for if he decides to carry through with his bounce platform, You will land an easy auto-kill. However, if he instead shies away from the bounce platform and resorts to a less aggressive game on top, You will have avoided the bounce platform and will be in position to place Your OWN bounce platform, thus gaining a significant strategical advantage. Let's see how this option plays out:
Opponent will surely recognize this consequence and will either try to compensate by destroying the rope bridge to open a hole through which he could kill your P4 on the next turn, or he will try to defend his tree with a protective inner wall with the knowledge that he still has turn advantage (he went first). We'll go with the former just for simplicity's sake, as it doesn't really make much of a difference for what I'm trying to show you:
Opponent Move 4a:
You Move 4a:
Okay, now let's try what Madnex suggested:
I mean, with maximum 2 throws you can turn it against them and use the remaining specks. One around the middle to prevent most bounces and one closer to you which will take out 2/3 of the plat and allow you to climb on the wall. If he misses the first one, it's waste of a plat for him.
First of all, Madnex has assumed that the bounce platform placed is above the wall, blocking players from climbing the wall, hence the last part of his second sentence. However, since most good players these days use the platform I'm showing (because it sticks out further and is easier to bounce grenades off of), that's the one we'll use.
Now, here are the 7 possible explosions of the platform using a regular grenade fired from the left side. I've listed them in order of effectiveness:
As you can see, Explosion 1 is extremely effective; it essentially undoes the bounce platform entirely, save for a small sliver that very few people are able to hit consistently. This is what Madnex was referring to when he said
one…which will take out 2/3 of the plat…
Explosions 2 and 3 are the next most effective, but as you can see there is plenty of surface area on which to land regular grenades in BOTH options. Explosions 4 - 7 are pretty much useless, assuming whomever is bouncing grenades has a decent amount of skill.
Okay, so you have a 1/7 chance of perfectly countering the bounce platform on one shot. Meh, not great odds after all, eh? In other words, if Opponent decides to shy away from placing a bounce platform and instead retreats, Your chances of landing a grenade off of your bounce platform with Your P2 on the very next turn are very high. Strategical advantage then goes to You.
Now let's take a step back.
Let's say Opponent doesn't retreat at Move 4. Let's say instead he decides to give up his P4 and place the bounce platform after all. Watch what happens:
Opponent Move 4b:
You Move 4b (kills P4):
Opponent Move 5a:
Opponent Move 5b:
Opponent Move 5c:
Now Your P1 is way back, you have to waste a platform to get back onto your tree, your opponent's bounce platform is still untouched, and you've got to find a way to turn it all around.
Point: bounce platform = success about 85% of the time.
That doesn't seem like it was worth the time.
EDIT: May as well let you know I probably have ADD since my dad and my brother have it. I just haven't got it checked out yet. May be one reason I write such long shit and spend time on stuff that may not seem like it matters at all. But hey, I get a kick out of it while I'm doing it, so whatever.

That's fuckin crazy User. Good work showing us though.
Haha. Thanks. For some reason it never seems as long when I'm writing it, but once I post shit it's long. Somehow what you said to me a while back is probably more wise than I realize (bonus point +1 for rhyming boo ya):
learn to condense shit
I didn't really look at it but it seems impressive from a distance.
I'm impressed. Very informative. This is the kind of thing I'd always feel like posting but never having the effort to. Looking at games in-depth like this has always been something I've enjoyed, and it's pretty easy to tell from this that you're a baseball fan.
Also, what's the auto to kill P4?

See where P4 from blue team is standing? Stand there and do -57 full power (rope must be in tact). Glad I could help!
it's pretty easy to tell from this that you're a baseball fan.
Haha I smiled, that's so true. Just the kind of stuff I love about baseball, all the details and strategy, you are correct sir.
Thanks broseph but I'm not courageous for making that haha silly Greek
So wait, if I make you really angry will you stop spamming pointless shit all over the place?
YOURE GAY FAGOT DAHA BUT AND YUR GAY HAHA
Green, you are seriously an enormous faggot, stop spamming.
Also I heard that you've suggested you are one of the best TWO players. I suggest you don't suggest that.
:3 . . . ._. ur right about me spamming, i'll stop. But everything else is just silly rhine. sorry for cluttering up the forums, and yes I was at one point one of the best TWO players.
. . . x3 omg rhiney ur so cool!
