Interesting Void strat

I have created a more rush oriented Void II Strategy.
The specific void is the "Big Earth Void" and is used on the left side.

-Pros-
Easy to toss grenades onto earth where most people camp
Surprise the enemy and catch them off guard
Easy to get and maintain a quick lead

-Cons-
Could be avoided easily by smart players

EDIT: Suggested to use if having first turn

Re: Interesting Void strat

I think it doesn't work because I can bounce grenades from the top platform to the back of the meteorite then back to the top platform. Then the next grenade would fall to the bottom platform. You are also kinda low so attacking is harder for you than your opponent.

Re: Interesting Void strat

Well you're right but the enemy usually makes his way up onto the Earth, in this position you can easily get nades to kill him before he does any major damage.
You might even be able to ruin or block his strategy of getting up.

Re: Interesting Void strat

You might personally have no interest in the game Twin, but this is a forum for TW, so these kinds of posts shouldn't be looked down upon; there is "speaking your mind" and then there is being an asshole just for the sake of being an asshole. If you really don't care, the simple solution is to avoid the topic, or even the entire section for that matter.

Zurg: One blocking platform ruins it, and since they'd be throwing from such a low angle, one wall on the planet could potentially block all grenades as well. In addition, your defense is pathetically weak, since they can land grenades easily. There is almost no place for them to miss.

Re: Interesting Void strat

I was trying to save him some time. Nike, or whatever your other name was, if you want feedback on strategies, I would suggest taking it to clans where the majority of people still play. Nobody here really plays anymore, and even if we make a few comments about it, the post probably isn't worth your time.

Re: Interesting Void strat

5 minutes of my time that is supposedly "wasted" isn't much of a problem to me. The additional comments on my strategy are just a means for me to try to improve it. Yes, clans are where the majority of people would care but I just wanted some extra feedback.

play pros while you use that strategy. Then ask them how to improve it.

Here is a more improved version
Nades are harder to land on the asteroid, and on the plat.

Re: Interesting Void strat

That is a lot better. Just be careful because an opponent can mess up your build by using their own wall or platform to trap you. Still, MUCH better than your first one.

Re: Interesting Void strat

3 moves. Rocket P3 from a lower ground to cut them off higher grounds. Literally any impact aimed for P2 will also knock him down. In case you decide to camp, impact comet  to make ground then bounce one on the wall/plat. Too open.

Re: Interesting Void strat

Anti-

Nice strategy. The improved one is 10x better and the entire idea is original but maintains effectiveness as well. For any new strategy (or old, for that matter), people will find problems, but the fact that your idea is smart and original means that you've minimized those problems significantly. This strategy is very "open," as Madnex mentioned, so you leave yourself with very few options for a "getaway" camping location. In addition, if your opponent knows how to use impacts/rockets effectively, you may find yourself in a bit of a quandary before you're able to attack. However, the biggest flaw with this strategy is the fact that you only have access to upward motion once you reach the middle of the stage. On a map as large as one of the Voids, that translates to many turns without an attack before you can finally reach higher ground with P1, at which point your other men will still be vulnerable at ground level. Meanwhile, of course, your opponent will have reached high ground on the right and will be in position to begin trying to hit those grounded men.

In the end, if you place those builds in a smart sequence and if you are comfortable with grenades, this strategy could work almost as well as any other. My suggestion, though, is that you use this strategy as an extension to (rather than a replacement of) the classic sequence that begins with climbing to the left-most asteroid first. Because that asteroid is so much closer to your starting position, you'll be safe and distanced from your opponent in plenty of time, but you'll also be able to begin moving into the open from a secure location rather than from ground level.

Of course, that means you'll want to use it in 5v5+ situations only, since you'll need plenty of builds to complete the sequence.

Re: Interesting Void strat

User probably covered it, but I would just shoot your player 3 with a rocket, and it would lower the wall enough that you wouldn't be able to get back up, then it's just a knocking you down a fuckload game because you would be stuck on lower ground.

Having said that, it could work in a 5v5 because of the extra supplies, but I prefer a strategy with a better fallback for if I'm losing. I also think it's too low for void, I always find void is most important for getting really high ground, because I like the big bounces.

Re: Interesting Void strat

I do kinda like the idea of getting lower behind the earth for cover and being at a lower angle for softer grenade bounces for precision on the earth, but seriously if you get high ground early on left like user said you can easily rape any setup right side makes before he can even get to a position to hurt you.

Re: Interesting Void strat

Uses 1 rocket, wins game. negative: too close to opponent area of operation, if you want a more close strategy like that, still start from the moon area but make it closer to the rock

Possibly, I think I only had like 1629 wins on my Twinfan603 account when I retired. Don't care enough to verify that.

Twin = 1634-720

I never reached 1000 wins on one account. I think overall, I was about 1200-600.
