Post your projects

This can be anything small to big from crafting something  [fan made figures maybe] to making games

I'm sure there are always things we're working on, and I think it'd be great to share these with the boards, it's about time we start getting to know more of each other. Try to keep your progress all in one bulk post, instead of making a post for every progress you've made, just edit your first post so we can keep track. I'll list all known projects here on this first post, and post links to your pictures, not the whole picture itself. Any changes or suggestions will be appreciated

Re: Post your projects

I've got a project that is finished. If anybody has played Ni No Kuni, there is a card game you can play as a sort of side quest called Platoon. The rules are simple and can be found HERE. I absolutely love this game and wanted to be able to play it with my friends, not just the computer.

The game can be played with a normal deck of cards, but that's boring, so I went through deviant art and found some great medieval artwork and designed some cards to display the art.

I uploaded each file to http://www.makeplayingcards.com/ and in a few days they printed and sent me my own custom Platoon card deck for a great price (I think the whole thing was under 30 bucks).

Thanks Upgrade!

My new project is to help Crusher with his game company. Crusher, your logo offends my ocular senses, there's too many colors! When designing a logo, always start in black and white, if you're logo doesn't look good on a letterhead, it's time for a redesign.

Re: Post your projects

I have another project that's a work in progress. I've been waiting until the summer but the design process started sometime late last year. My friend always brings over his BAGS game (some call it corn hole or hillbilly horseshoes)when we have bbqs or parties.

I wanted to make my own, like he did, so he said he would help. He builds kitchens and stuff like that and is crazy good with construction. I wanted mine to be unique so I toyed around with painting a picture on the board, at first I thought a shark game or something like that, but I thought a zombies cornhole would be neat. I came up with a few designs and settled on something I really like, the files are huge 2 x 4 foot vectors at around 35 mb each.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y241/mars1566/TW2/11808_544031735640116_1127910214_n_zps8195fd6e.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y241/mars1566/TW2/207127_544032438973379_2021252004_n_zpsc9ca122a.jpg

And the final design:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y241/mars1566/TW2/946668_544038182306138_1581049307_n_zpsdb973e1b.jpg

I plan to print these out on vinyl, then glue them on the board. I'll finish it off with a clear coat over the vinyl so it's nice and smooth. I haven't shopped around for printers yet until I start building the boards with my friend. I'll probably use iron ons for the bean bags and sew them myself. I'm toying with the idea of adding led lights to the holes and glow in the dark paint for the eyes, but I think that might be overdoing it.

What I would love to do is rig a trigger by the hole, so whenever a bag falls through it, an mp3 of zombie moans plays to indicate you successfully fed the zombie.

Re: Post your projects

Lmfao that's great Mike, it seems that you can really do some high end stuff

I've been meaning to post my project up on here but it rained hard yesterday so I couldn't take pictures

Like it was weird, it was cold in the morning, then went up in the 70-80's in teh afternoon, then it was stormy lightning, super windy weather a few hours after sad I guess that's punishment to Seattle people for trying to enjoy good weather

Re: Post your projects

I've finally gotten my parts last weekend, so I was able to work on the car. I remembered to take a few pictures ^-^

This was the car before

We replaced the alternator

Got a new battery

Filled the tires with air
2nd pic

Bought a new fuel pump, and cleaned up
2nd pic

Everything else seems to be working fine, we actually got it to start, because it wouldn't even start before. The only problem is now that after the car gets to a certain heat, it just stops. What we're thinking is that there's something wrong with the temperature sensor, so that's what we'll look into next.

Rest of pics:

Re: Post your projects

I am trying to get my parakeet to have a ton of trust in me. Every time I go near it it shakes from fear and it makes me sad :\

I want it to be able to perch on my finger or shoulder or anywhere.

If anyone has any tips or knows a site written by like a professional bird trainer on how to train a parakeet would be great. I have been surfing for training sites and alot of the info goes against each other so I am not entirely sure what to do.

Re: Post your projects

Don't think I can help you there, but funny moment after work I was walking to my bus stop, when this dude on a motorcycle parks at the local mechanics. The whole time he was driving, his bird was perched on his shoulder, it was a pretty big one too, not exactly sure what it was, maybe a parrot or a parakeet

You should probably buy a book instead of trying to find a good site, as you seem to have noticed the internet isn't always reliable. So I guess you can just type "parakeet" into the search function for Amazon or go to your local pet or book store.

Re: Post your projects

Books are still better and worth the money. Besides, I doubt a book about parakeet care can be more than $10, and if his family is willing to pay money for a parakeet they surely must be willing to pay for a book to help take care of it.
