Re: Post your projects

yuh, western>japanese imo. ive started drawing some manga myself recently, but its so bad its not even worth sharing. its hard to grasp the concept of manga coming off of semi-realism and surrealism

If your manga doesn't have any cute/sexy girls I'm gonna burn you at the stake then dunk your body in acid.

Just kidding.  Better be some cute girls though.  =_=

I have another project that's a work in progress. I've been waiting until the summer but the design process started sometime late last year. My friend always brings over his BAGS game (some call it corn hole or hillbilly horseshoes)when we have bbqs or parties.

I wanted to make my own, like he did, so he said he would help. He builds kitchens and stuff like that and is crazy good with construction. I wanted mine to be unique so I toyed around with painting a picture on the board, at first I thought a shark game or something like that, but I thought a zombies cornhole would be neat. I came up with a few designs and settled on something I really like, the files are huge 2 x 4 foot vectors at around 35 mb each.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y241/m … 95fd6e.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y241/m … ca122a.jpg

And the final design:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y241/m … 973e1b.jpg

I plan to print these out on vinyl, then glue them on the board. I'll finish it off with a clear coat over the vinyl so it's nice and smooth. I haven't shopped around for printers yet until I start building the boards with my friend. I'll probably use iron ons for the bean bags and sew them myself. I'm toying with the idea of adding led lights to the holes and glow in the dark paint for the eyes, but I think that might be overdoing it.

What I would love to do is rig a trigger by the hole, so whenever a bag falls through it, an mp3 of zombie moans plays to indicate you successfully fed the zombie.

I have watched this form on my other account for a long time but Rodimus I really like your artwork and I think you should enter the playing card design contest

Re: Post your projects

Hmm, I might try that. Perhaps a Territory War inspired deck of cards?

I recently designed my own cards for a game called 'A Wolf in Redmont'. I'm not sure if anyone has ever played the game 'Mafia' at a party or something, but the game is based on that.

I loved played that game but writing 'Mafia' or 'Police' on a piece of ripped paper just won't do. There were games already printed but none of them had all the things I wanted. I wanted the roles descriptions written on the cards, I wanted certain roles with certain powers, and I wanted a certain number of cards without having to buy two boxes to meet that quota. I decided to make my own and used medieval stamps as the inspiration:

And it's for sale! Feel free to buy it. If you think it's awesome, buy one for a friend. If you think it sucks, buy one for an enemy.

Well PhotoDojo said he was doing it. When I saw he had not produced anything yet I said 'fuck it' I'll try it out. It won't have that great cartoony look like Pox does but it's better than nothing.

Re: Post your projects

I just finished another Emulation Project. This one was a birthday present for someone, and I used the Raspberry Pi B. It works really well emulating everything below 16 bit, with only a little slow down for some SNES games (you can counter this by overclocking it a little).

This is a great alternative to my first emulation project because the Raspberry Pi is only 40 bucks and as long as you're willing to learn a little Linux you can have a great and compact emulator in a day.

I used a dremel and customized an old Sega Genesis cartridge for the Pi to fit in. Custom printed labels that I designed. If anybody is thinking about doing this I would suggest a bigger cartridge like possibly the Atari or Snes because the Sega was very tiny and hard to fit it in.

Re: Post your projects

Sort of a project. I've been dabbling in collecting retro consoles and their games. I've got a few I inherited and I'm sort of in the beginning of searching on my own to make the collection grow. My one beef is that old games never come in cases, so I ordered a box of universal game consoles and began printing out the labels. It's a tedious process but I feel these are going to look great on a book shelf.

Cool, what consoles have you got? I've only got the ones from my childhood at the minute (NES, SNES and 64) but I'm looking to get a few more.

Re: Post your projects

Coleco Telstar
Atari 2600
Nintendo Tabletop Popeye Arcade
Coleco Tabletop Pac-Man Arcade
NES
Original Nintendo Gameboy
Sega Genesis
Sega Gamegear
Sega Dreamcast
PS1
PS2
Gamecube

I know some would argue that a couple of those listed are not 'retro' but I figured list anything before current or last generation.

After building my emulator I don't really use these to play the actual games, but even without emulation these are really fun to collect because they're cheap and the games are fun. Garage sales and markets, things like that will usually have stuff like this and it beats dealing with all the crap that's coming out currently. Eventually I'm hoping to come up with a really tasteful way of displaying all the consoles.

Re: Post your projects

Oh I played the shit out of Sonic and Knuckles. In Sonic 3 you can choose between Tails, Sonic, or Sonic and Tails, and start a game and collect all the chaos emeralds from the bonus stages. If you get all of them, at 50 rings you can turn into Super Sonic which is gold like a super saiyan. Tails pulses white or something.

In Sonic and Knuckles you can do the same thing, but also add Knuckles to the mix, and he is white or something I can't exactly remember.

The cool thing is when you lock on Sonic and Knuckles to Sonic 3 and you play both games like one continuous story. You can collect the first batch of emeralds from Sonic 3, but when you get to Sonic and Knuckles, the second batch of emeralds are just bigger versions of the emeralds from Sonic 3. When you collect ALL the emeralds you get hyper versions of each character. Sonic pulses white and is ridiculously fast, Tails gets some birds that hone in on enemies and kill them, and Knuckles gets this super bash that shakes the screen when he slams into the ground.

I got all the emeralds by getting to the bonus stage in the first level, getting the emerald, saving, and then reloading the game and repeating. It takes a while but it's faster then playing the whole game. It changes the story too I can't remember exactly but I believe if you lock on and get no emeralds Knuckles' Floating Island sinks to the ocean, if you collect half the emeralds (or all the emeralds in one game without being locked on) the Island floats back up to the sky as it was before Eggman got there, and if you collect all the emeralds from both games the Island floats up to space.

Good times, good times. Those games (sonic 1, 2, 3, sonic and knuckles, and sonic CD) had the best physics system of any sonic game and were the games that really got me into gaming for the first time. That and Nights into Dreams. They are still the reason I prerfer side scrollers over most of the new crap that comes out today. I wish they would make more old games like that because all these new ones are trash. They remade sonic 1-2 and CD for the iphone ios and even added new stuff like this new level! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdO-iKWe_yg I lost all my rings :'c fuking dinosaurs have flamethrowers!

I have started to dabble into Shantae, an oldschool sidescroller that came out for the gameboy color in 2002. The newest one came out (shantae and the Pirates Curse) in the Wii U ware and 3ds ware and it stays true to true side scrolling not like the new sonic games. Good luck with your collection I hope you post more pictures when you get new stuff c:
