Weapon Selection Screen

Hello there,

I was thinking of this for a long time, but I think it would be better to make the weapon selection screen (It's when you press W during a match) more organized.

With that being available, players don't have to scroll the screen with the mouse back and forth since the player is playing with the KEYBOARD, and it would kind of be annoying. And another good thing with this is that there can be more weapons being available without the Wep screen being confusing and complicated.

It would be nice to hear your opinions.

Regards, RumMumMario

Re: Weapon Selection Screen

Well it'd be nice but for most of us it's kind of useless, since I think alot of people use 1234567890 to select a weapon.

Re: Weapon Selection Screen

What Puri said, although I do use the W to find out how much ammo I have for that weapon

(for strategy this is good because some people use the shortcuts, and in times when the opponent thinks you've used all your rockets, it wouldn't be a good idea to whip it out. Because opening the weapon tray only shows information to you.)

I'm down for making it organized Worms Armaggedon style where you get to see all the weapons at once in a neat box

Why? What would they do differently that the weapons the tw3 game don't already do?

Re: Weapon Selection Screen

A lightsaber would be so pointless and a violation of intellectual property. The pick axe and boot are both good melee weapons. No one would use it because it doesn't add anything strategic by using it. It would leave people open and deter people from using it.

Flamethrower would be nice if it has an effect to burn the platforms, but otherwise it's pointless. Lightsaber is not needed, we already have pickaxe for close range weapons.
I really don't think any new weapons should be added, though.

Why would burning the platform be helpful at all?

Re: Weapon Selection Screen

I remeber the lightsaber suggestion was my first post here, and I'll tell you what Shadowken (basically) told me.  Stick arena has lightsabers if you want a game with those, and Territory War is not a melee weapon-based game.

Well.....You got that right, this is just a random thing I thought of it, so don't make any comments about it tongue

You know Island ll has the brown floating platform, right? So if you burn that, the platform would be useless because of the flames burning it. If a player gets into the fire, burns him by 1 damage. That would be about 10 damages/sec.
The flamethrower cannot burn stuff such as rocks and metals. The City is pretty much non-burnable so this can't be used to all maps.

Um, so that's....yeah. I think this effect can be available to other weapons, like the explosion of Mortar, RPG but not Grenade.

Re: Weapon Selection Screen

nope just nope, it'd be hard to make the game detect things like rocks/metals specifically.

Re: Weapon Selection Screen

Also think the flames from the flamethrower would add on to the lag of TW3. Besides the acid launcher is already there

I agree, yes we already have Acid Launcher. The lags, huh yeah that would be annoying.

Re: Weapon Selection Screen

Not to be harsh or anything, but a flamethrower doesnt fit the playstyle of TW3 and is a horrible idea. I'd probably stop playing and wouldn't and my men on fire . . . that's really dumb. No offence though.

This game seems like it wasn't typically meant to be something like ShellShock Live, Terraria, and some other games with a bunch of options and great stuffs. It really looks like a boredom-smash game, not trying to put this game down but y'know.

Afro was going for simplicity, not "add all of the cool items and shit" kind of thing.
