Re: Post your projects

If the gamecube had the controller design to match its tech capabilities, it would have owned the generation of consoles.

Re: Post your projects

The gamecube controller was the most comfortable controller I've ever held. The gamecube had pretty bad third party support which is why it wasn't the best console along with some other reasons I need not get into at this time.

Re: Post your projects

Nintendo have never been good on 3rd party support though. It was the 1st party games that disappointed me with the GC. Especially the gimmicky Double Dash and the gimmicky Super Mario Sunshine. Wind Waker was a decent game but far too over-rated in my eyes and Four Swords isn't even worth mentioning. Metroid Prime 1 and 2 were the gems of the GC. Never played the Pikmin games but I heard they were good.
And the GC had some of the worst Memory Cards I've ever come across that would corrupt themselves for no reason and you'd have to delete all data and start from scratch.
Also if we're counting the GC and PS2 as retro, I've got them as well.

My favorite games there were Supersmashbros brawl melee, and the James Bond games.

I already passed you. You don't like what I'm doing, who asked you?

Re: Post your projects

Until Nintendo gets over its 'I'm a teenager and so different' phase they'll never dominate any market. They need to bring their hardware up to the current gen consoles or no company will develop for just one system when there are two others out there that are identical and you can sell potentially double the amount of your product. That's not including PC.

Although the Genesis vs. SNES true console wars were probably really exciting. I kind of remember it but I was too young to probably truly grasp it at the time. You bought a system and you rallied behind it. You never got cross platform games that were exactly the same and the systems were different enough that it mattered. You've got people now screaming at each other over a PS4 or an XBOne when they're exactly the same under the hood with next to no exclusives. That's not a console battle.

If one of the systems went truly different like Nintendo and did something really out of the box that made developers choose who they create for, it would be really exciting and you would probably see a ton of innovative titles come out.

Lolwut. In terms of best selling games of all time, they dominate (and most of them are quite recent). Excluding Wii Sports because that's cheating, 7 of the top ten best selling games have been exclusive to Nintendo consoles.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_be … _platforms

In terms of consoles, the NES outsold its competitors, the SNES outsold its competitors, the Wii outsold its competitors, the DS outsold its competitors, the 3DS outsold its competitors and the 3DS is the best selling out of all the current-gen consoles, including home consoles.
In fact, in terms of handheld gaming, no dedicated console has ever come close to replicating Nintendo's success at the market. Alas, handheld gaming is in the hands of mobile games now so handheld consoles will probably die out as iOS and Android games take over.
Only Sony have sold more home consoles than Nintendo but when you add handheld consoles into the mix, Nintendo are massively outselling Sony.

I agree with everything else you said though.

Re: Post your projects

Nintendo doesn't need 3rd party support to compete, they have plenty of exclusive games, and you can play most of the PlayStation and Xbox games on PC.

Re: Post your projects

You're totally right CViper I meant to say dominate any 3rd party market, hence why I only talked about 3rd party stuff. I think even Wii U is starting to get some momentum they increased sales something close to 200% this holiday season. I suspect their sales will see another jump when the new Zelda game comes out. Wii U is the only current system I have, the other systems just don't have anything that is interesting to me yet.

Re: Post your projects

I don't own any current-gen consoles partly because I have too many expensive hobbies, partly because PC gaming is just better these days. I'll probably end up getting a Wii U at some point for all the First Party games especially Zelda and Metroid. Half tempted to get one now for Smash Bros but I might just get that on 3DS. I'm hoping to hear back from a better paid job that I applied to recently quite soon so it'll probably depend on that.

List of home console video games not available on PC

It's a very short list. Consoles today are just PC's stuck in the closet.

Re: Post your projects

I got Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U (came with Bayonetta 1 for free) and I've gotta say that game really helped the Wii U. New smash bros is awesome! I'll start streaming my games live in a month if you all wanna watch ;3 Can't wait for the New 3ds, 8 more days!

I've got a pretty nice telescope now because I've been getting interested in astrophotography. I don't have a T-Ring yet so I can't hook up my good camera to take pics, but I've been using my cell phone to take crappy pics through the eye hole whenever I find something interesting. Here's a couple:

When the Sun expands to engulf our planet in flames there will be nobody saying "pics or it didn't happen". This is why we have Mike.
